Free ACT Orientation test
Fifteen Orientation questions against the clock, in the format of the British Army Cognitive Test: two rules, then the picture that follows both.
- 15 questions
- 2.5 minutes
- Timed
What Orientation looks like
In Orientation you see two rules about a pair of arrows – for example which way the top arrow points, or which colour is on top. The rules disappear, and you choose the one picture that follows both of them (Mindmill practice booklet).
The fastest method is to check one rule at a time: the first rule usually rules out several pictures straight away, so you only test the remaining ones against the second rule.
How this free test is set up
Fifteen questions in two and a half minutes – the pace of our practice timing of 30 questions in 5 minutes. The Army does not publish question numbers or time limits, so treat the timing as practice.
