2. What this website is
Uniformed Services Prep is a static information website. It has no user accounts, no login, no forms and no payment function. We do not ask you to enter any personal data on this site.
Courses are sold in our separate shop at plakos.co.uk. When you follow a link to the shop, the shop’s own privacy notice applies there.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany (EU), on our behalf. We have a data processing agreement with Hetzner pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
Every time you open a page, the web server automatically records:
- your IP address
- date and time of the request
- the requested URL
- the user agent (browser and operating system)
We use this data only to run the website securely, to detect and prevent attacks and misuse, and to fix errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR).
The log files are deleted automatically after 14 days. They are not combined with other data.
4. Fonts
All fonts are hosted on our own server. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service when you visit this website.
5. Contacting us by e-mail
You can contact us by e-mail. We then process your e-mail address, the content of your message and any further details you give us, in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or a planned contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations require us to keep it.
6. Cookie banner and your consent decision
When you first visit the website, a cookie banner asks whether you allow statistics. Your decision is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key usp-consent. This entry is technically necessary to remember your choice; no consent is required for it (§ 25(2) TDDDG, the German Telecommunications and Telemedia Data Protection Act). It stays in your browser until you delete it or change your decision.

If you allow statistics in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). It shows us which pages are visited and how, so that we can improve the website.
No Google script is loaded before you have decided. We use Google Consent Mode v2:
analytics_storageis “denied” by default and only set to “granted” after you agree.ad_storage,ad_user_dataandad_personalizationare always “denied”. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing or personalised ads.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. With your consent, Google sets the following cookies:
_ga— distinguishes visitors, stored for up to 2 years_ga_*(followed by the ID of our property) — keeps the session state, stored for up to 2 years
Google Analytics data at event and user level is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically (data retention setting of our property).
Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and the UK Extension to it), so the European Commission considers the level of data protection adequate for such transfers.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG; in the UK, the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. The processing carried out before the withdrawal remains lawful.
