Who we are and how we write our questions
Who we are
Uniformed Services Prep is a service of Plakos GmbH, an education company in Lübeck, Germany. We build online training on our own learning platform,PlakosAI, and use it to run the practice courses on this site.
We are independent. We are not part of, or endorsed by, the British Army, the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the Royal Air Force, the Ministry of Defence, the Security Industry Authority or any other service or licensing body.
How our questions are made
Every question is our own. We never use leaked or copied test questions. How a question is made depends on the kind of task:
- Tasks with one calculable answer – such as the Army Cognitive Test sections and DAA numerical reasoning, work rate and spatial reasoning – are generated by code. The answer is calculated, not claimed, and an automated test solves every question again independently before it is published.
- Knowledge and scenario questions – such as the SIA door supervisor units and DAA verbal, electrical and mechanical comprehension – are drafted with the help of an AI model against a syllabus (for SIA, closely following the published SIA specifications). Each draft is reviewed in a separate pass.
- Blind check. The knowledge and scenario questions then go through a blind check: each one is answered without seeing our answer key. Where the result differs from our key, the question is checked again and corrected or removed.
Where our facts come from
Question numbers, time limits and pass marks on this site come from published sources – the services' own recruitment pages, GOV.UK, SIA publications and the official practice material where it exists. Each fact links to its source. Where no official figure exists, we say so and label our practice timings as such.
If you spot something that is out of date or wrong, please e-mail info@plakos.de. We check and correct it.
