Free ACT Number Fluency test
Twenty Number Fluency questions in the format of the British Army Cognitive Test: a sum at the top, a sum at the bottom – which answer was higher, or are they the same?
- 20 questions
- 3.75 minutes
- Timed
What Number Fluency looks like
You see a calculation at the top, then one at the bottom. Both disappear, and you decide whether the top answer or the bottom answer was higher – or whether they were the same (Mindmill practice booklet).
Work out the top sum and hold only its answer while you read the bottom one. Holding one number is much easier than holding a whole calculation.
How this free test is set up
Twenty questions in three and three-quarter minutes – the pace of our practice timing of 40 questions in 7.5 minutes. No calculator. The Army does not publish question numbers or time limits; the timing is practice.
